Alex Storako
Biography
Personal: Storako is the daughter of Rob and Jamie Storako. She is one of four children in her family. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management at Michigan. Storako has a dog named Clark. She models her game after Hannah Rogers and Keilani Ricketts. Storako was also involved in basketball and cheerleading as a child.
2024 AUX Season: Storako registered 750 leaderboard points while making her Athletes Unlimited debut. She tied for seventh in the league with 480 inning win points and recorded five games with 100 or more leaderboard points. Storako appeared in three games with one start, and she authored a 0-1 record with an 11.55 earned run average. During her debut against Team Warren on June 11, Storako threw 6.2 innings, recording one strikeout, including a season-high 4.0 innings. She also pitched 2.0 innings on June 22 against Team Nickles.
2023 Championship Season: Storako was one of 14 players selected in the Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball College Draft.
Other Professional Experience: Storako compiled a 1-2 record and a 5.85 earned run average with the Oklahoma City Spark during the 2023 Women’s Professional Fastpitch season. She collected 14 strikeouts over 26.1 innings and allowed one run on three hits with a season-high five strikeouts in a complete game effort against Texas on August 7. Storako tallied three strikeouts against USSSA Pride on July 22. She was the first overall pick in the 2023 WPF Draft by Oklahoma City.
College Experience: Storako was a four-year letter winner at Michigan before transferring to Oklahoma for the 2023 season. She had an impressive college career, boasting a 1.63 earned run average with an 87-20 record and five saves. Storako appeared in 150 career games with 104 starts, collecting 1,009 strikeouts over 667.1 innings with 24 shutouts. She posted 200 or more strikeouts in her junior and senior seasons. Storako was a Second-Team NFCA All-America performer as a junior and also earned Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Year honors. She was a three-time NFCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree, including First-Team distinction in 2021 and 2022. Storako was an All-Big Ten First Team selection as a junior and senior at Michigan before claiming Second-Team All-Big 12 honors in her lone season at Oklahoma. She was also a Top 25 finalist for the 2023 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.
In her final season at Oklahoma, Storako had an 18-0 record with a 1.15 earned run average, leading the Sooners to the NCAA Division I title after pitching four shutouts, including a no-hitter against Kentucky on March 3, 2023, and registering her 1,000th career strikeout against Oklahoma State in the regular season finale.
During her senior season at Michigan, Storako started 29 of 38 games, posting a 25-8 record with a 1.71 earned run average and collecting a career-high 300 strikeouts. She tallied 10 or more strikeouts in a game 14 times and secured her first career no-hitter in an eight-inning victory against Drake on March 5, 2022, and struck out a season-high 18 hitters against Illinois State on February 11, 2022.
In her junior campaign, Storako finished the 2021 season with a 22-3 record, ranking seventh in the nation with a 1.05 earned run average. She set a Michigan single-game record with 22 strikeouts against Michigan State in a nine-inning affair on May 5, 2021, and notched 19 strikeouts against Nebraska on March 11, 2021.
Storako began her college career pitching in 38 contests, including 25 starts, as a freshman in 2019. She garnered a 14-6 record with a 2.02 earned run average and 190 strikeouts in 142.1 innings, also earning two saves, including a save to secure the Big Ten Championship against No. 12 Minnesota on May 11, 2019.
