Setter Gabby Blossom Returns for AU Pro Volleyball Championship
Gabby Blossom’s journey has taken her from the NCAA Final Four to pro stops in Athletes Unlimited, the Pro Volleyball Federation (now Major League Volleyball), League One Volleyball and Puerto Rico. Now, the veteran setter is set to return for her third AU Pro Volleyball competition.
In 2024, Blossom tallied 1,314 leaderboard points while appearing in 34 sets over 14 matches. She finished with 36 assists, three service aces, and 30 digs, including a double-double of 25 assists and 13 digs against Team Member-Meneh on Oct. 21. She reached 100 or more leaderboard points in five matches, capped by a season-high 201 points against Team Kingdon Rishel on Nov. 3.
Her professional debut came in 2023, when she recorded 1,085 leaderboard points in 20 sets across 10 matches. She posted back-to-back 13-assist outings against Team Edmond and notched her season-best 180 points against Team Hilley on Oct. 29. Blossom was also one of six athletes selected in the inaugural AU Pro Volleyball College Draft.
Beyond AU, Blossom competed for the Columbus Fury during the inaugural PVF season in 2024, then spent the 2025 LOVB season with Madison, where she recorded a season-high 43 assists in March. She also gained professional experience competing in Puerto Rico.
Blossom played collegiately at Penn State and San Diego. She was twice honored as an AVCA All-American, earning Third Team recognition in 2019 with the Nittany Lions before transferring to San Diego, where she guided the Toreros to their first NCAA semifinal appearance in 2022 and collected First Team honors. That season, she was named AVCA Pacific South Region Player of the Year and West Coast Conference Setter of the Year after ranking 14th in Division I with 1,324 assists, the seventh-highest single-season total in program history.
Blossom now looks to add another strong campaign to her growing professional career when she returns to AU this fall.
The 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship will feature 44 of the world’s top volleyball players in an exclusive, high-stakes tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the sport. These elite athletes, handpicked from the best domestic and international pro leagues, will face off in the nation’s premier volleyball hubs in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena (October 1-15) and in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center (October 22 – November 3). Tickets for both locations are now available here.
