Biography
Personal: Willis has a professional role as a spacecraft test engineer in Denver, where she is actively involved in delivering cargo to the International Space Station. She pursued a degree in mechanical engineering during her time at Denver. Beyond her professional pursuits, Willis enjoys various hobbies, including outdoor activities, painting, yoga, and cooking. She is the daughter of Mike and Mary Willis and has one sister named Isabel.
2022 Season: Willis made her debut, appearing in 16 sets across five matches. During her inaugural season, she accumulated an impressive 1,898 leaderboard points. Notably, she set her season high with six kills in a match against Team De La Cruz during the Week Five opener on April 14, where she also contributed two digs. Willis continued to showcase her skills, recording five kills on a season-high 14 attempts in a victory over Team Drews on April 15, while also achieving a season-best three digs. Her debut in Athletes Unlimited took place in a March 25 victory against Team Stivrins, where she concluded with three kills on nine attack attempts.
Other Professional Experience: Willis played two seasons for Zesar VFM Franches-Montagnes in Switzerland from 2019 to 2021.
At Denver: During her college years at Denver from 2015 to 2018, Willis was a four-year letter winner. She earned recognition for her outstanding performance, including being named to the 2017 All-Summit League Team and receiving Honorable Mention All-Summit League honors in 2016 and 2018. Willis left her mark in the program's history, ranking sixth with a career hitting percentage of .314 and fourth with 359 career block assists. She also contributed 381 total blocks, securing the eighth spot on Denver's career ledger. Over the course of her college career, Willis played in 114 matches and 377 sets, delivering 597 kills. Her sophomore year proved to be her standout season, amassing 189 kills and 131 blocks.
