David Friedman
President, Earlystone
David Friedman is the President of Earlystone Management Inc., a private investment company with significant real estate holdings that also invests in the ecosystem of women’s sports. David’s leadership at Earlystone is anchored in his thirty years of experience in global commercial real estate; leaning into the business of women’s sports has been a natural progression of his interests because he recognizes an undervalued asset when he sees one. He enjoys learning about the business of women’s sports and considers himself an ally in the field. In fact, he led Earlystone to be an early round investor in Athletes Unlimited and recently made a commitment to the Monarch Collective.
Prior to running Earlystone, David founded Ella Valley Capital where he continues to invest on behalf of, asset manage and counsel numerous family offices, high net worth individuals and multi-generational real estate families with respect to their real estate portfolios. Prior to founding Ella Valley, David was a Managing Director, Co-Head of Asset Management and General Counsel for Marathon Real Estate, the global real estate equity and debt platforms for Marathon Asset Management. David joined Marathon in 2005 from Proskauer Rose, where he was an attorney in the firm’s real estate department for 12 years representing institutional lenders, developers, equity sponsors, and special servicers in connection with acquisitions, sales, financings, workouts, debt and equity structuring, restructurings, and dispositions. David sits on the Boards of Edison Properties and 17 West 71st Corp as well as attending all Athletes Unlimited Board meetings as a representative of Earlystone. David holds a B.A. from Cornell University and a J.D. from New York Law School.
