Sydney Sherrill is a 5-foot-7 professional softball infielder from Moore, Oklahoma. She was acquired in the 5th Round of the 2026 Allocation Draft following a collegiate career at Florida State.

Personal Life

Hobbies: Enjoys working out, running and exploring the outdoors. Has four dogs.

Background: Lists winning the 2018 NCAA Championship and running a half-marathon as her greatest athletic achievements. Threw the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Philadelphia Phillies’ game on May 5, 2026.

Professional Experience

Athletes Unlimited Softball League (2022; 2026–)

2026 AUSL Regular Season (Oklahoma City Spark): Sherrill was the Spark's fifth-leading hitter with a .286 average, totaling 20 hits while scoring 10 runs and driving in 15. She tied for second in the AUSL with six doubles and held a share of fourth place on the league's walks (11) and stolen bases (3) charts. She hit safely in eight consecutive games from June 28 to July 12, recording four multi-hit efforts during that stretch. Sherrill helped Oklahoma City defeat Chicago on June 13 by going 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, also driving in two runs while scoring two. She tallied a season-high four runs batted in against Carolina on July 1 in a 2-for-3 effort. Sherrill opened the season by recording a double and two walks against Texas. She slugged a two-run home run against Chicago on June 28, and later belted a solo home run in the sixth inning against Utah on July 12 in a 4-2 victory.

2022 Championship Season: Earned 860 leaderboard points during her rookie season. Tallied seven hits in 26 at-bats while playing in 11 games. Drove in three runs.

International Experience (2017)

Team USA: Competed for the USA Junior Women’s National Team during the summer of 2017. Participated in the World Cup of Softball XII.

College Experience: Florida State (2018–2022)

Career Statistics: Played in a school-record 283 games. Holds the Florida State and ACC career doubles record (82). Posted a .382 career batting average with 43 home runs, 209 RBIs, and 281 hits. Owns the Florida State single-game record with three home runs against NC State on May 7, 2022.

Freshman Year (2018): Set Florida State and ACC single-season records with 29 doubles, tying the NCAA single-season mark. Member of the 2018 Women’s College World Series All-Tournament Team, leading the Seminoles to the 2018 NCAA Division I title.
