Michaela Edenfield

Michaela Edenfield is a 6-foot-1 professional softball catcher from Sneads, Florida. She was acquired in the 2nd Round of the 2025 College Draft following a collegiate career at Florida State.

Personal Life

Background: Edenfield was starstruck when she participated in a pitching session in Times Square earlier in 2026. She was involved in agriculture as a child. Her proudest accomplishments are graduating and receiving an AUSL Golden Ticket. She was crowned homecoming queen at Sneads High School in 2019. Has two cats named Sunkist and Casper.

Hobbies: Enjoys photography, makeup and fashion. She knows how to speak Chinese and enjoys reading.

Trivia: Knows how to blow air out of her eye socket. Nickname is "Area 51".

Family: Aunt, Teresa Edenfield, played softball at Florida State.

Professional Experience

Athletes Unlimited Softball League (2025–)

2026 AUSL Regular Season (Texas Volts): Edenfield earned the starting assignment in 16 of 19 games during the season, contributing a .172 batting average with one home run and two runs batted in. She tallied five hits with one run scored over the course of the year. Edenfield logged a season-high two hits against Chicago on July 5. Earlier in the season, on June 23 at Dell Diamond, she smashed a solo home run against the Bandits. She opened the season by going 1-for-2 against Oklahoma City on June 9.

2025 AUSL All-Star Cup: Earned 25th place on the final leaderboard after collecting 800 total points. Saw action in five games as a reserve, notching her first hit with an RBI double against Team Willis on August 20.

2025 AUSL Regular Season (Volts): Appeared in 19 games with 10 starts as a rookie with the Volts. Collected four hits, including a double, and was hit by a pitch three times.

International Experience (2019)

Team USA: Participated in the 2019 USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team selection trials.

College Experience: Florida State (2021–2025)

Edenfield was a five-year letter winner at Florida State who started 239-of-243 career games from 2021-25.

Career Statistics: Compiled a .313 career batting average. Ranks third in Florida State history with 54 career home runs and fifth with 202 RBIs. Tallied 187 hits and 163 walks.

Senior Year (2025): Batted .331 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs, collecting a career-high 51 hits.

Junior Year (2024): Hit a career-high .381 with 15 home runs and 46 RBIs.
