The injury bug certainly struck in Indiana, but two Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball stars have emerged to fill the gaps left by the likes of Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark. Odyssey Sims and Shey Peddy have stepped up for the Fever, showing why the team turned to them in crunch time.

It’s been just two weeks since Sims joined the Fever on a hardship contract, but she’s quickly becoming a fixture in the lineup. Tuesday against the Storm, Sims scored 22 points (8-of-14 FG, 3-of-4 3Pt, 3-of-4 FT) with three rebounds, six assists, and a steal across 28 minutes in Indiana’s 95-75 win.

She was sharp from the field, especially from deep, sinking threes from a distance that even had an injured Clark reacting from the bench. This marked her second-highest scoring performance of the season and tied her season best with three made triples, further cementing her role as a go-to option in the Fever’s lineup.

Peddy also arrived in Indiana on a seven-day hardship contract and wasted no time making an impact. She averaged 13 points, three made three-pointers, and 2.5 assists over her first two outings, including an 18-minute, 16-point performance on Sunday against Minnesota.

Two days earlier, she debuted with 10 points and four assists in her first WNBA action since June. With Cunningham out for the season, Peddy has provided immediate scoring and perimeter shooting, giving the Fever a reliable secondary option behind Sims. Her efficiency from the floor (6-of-7 in her latest outing) has been a key bright spot for Indiana.

Bria Hartley, Connecticut Sun

Hartley returned to form with 23 points, hitting 8-of-9 from the field and 3-of-3 from deep in Saturday’s 94-84 win over Chicago. It was her first double-digit scoring effort since early August and just her second 20-point outing of the season.

Kia Nurse, Chicago Sky

Nurse caught fire from deep, scoring 19 points with a perfect 5-of-9 from three in Saturday’s contest versus Connecticut. Her sharp shooting helped keep the Sky competitive and showcased the scoring threat she brings off the bench.

Nalyssa Smith, Las Vegas Aces

Smith added 10 points, three rebounds, and two blocks in Monday’s 79-74 win over Chicago. She has steadily increased her scoring recently, hitting at least eight points in three straight games while shooting 61.3 percent over the past five appearances.
