Two new captains have entered the scene after Week Four of competition while Amanda Lorenz remains in Gold ahead of Champions Week. She had the ultimate week establishing a solid lead in first place ahead of the final weekend, winning all three games and nearly every inning except one.

Here’s how the Week Four teams performed:

  • Team Lorenz: 3-0; 350 Win Points
  • Team Palacios: 2-1; 200 Win Points
  • Team Kilfoyl: 1-2; 130 Win Points
  • Team Faraimo: 0-3; 40 Win Points

Mover of the Week: Kat Sandercock

Pitcher Kat Sandercock shifted 22 spots to No. 21 overall on the leaderboard to be the Mover of the Week. She threw eight scoreless innings for Team Lorenz with two saves and a start. In her win on Sunday, Sandercock earned MVP 2 honors after surrendering only one run on two hits over 4.0 innings with four strikeouts.

A steady climb: Georgina Corrick

Pitcher Georgina Corrick has gradually made her way up the leaderboard each week to be a captain for the first time. Over the last three weekends, she has not only been on successful teams to add to her Win Points, but she’s gotten better in the circle to impact her stat & MVP categories.

Corrick’s leaderboard progression each week has been:

  • 45 → 33 → 15 → 2

She was the highest total point earner in Week Four, accumulating 96 Stat Points, 80 MVP Points, and 350 Win Points to help her move up 13 spots and become the Orange team captain. Corrick has a 3-0 record and 2.40 ERA on the season. She is now the top MVP point earner with 200 in the category; she’s been the MVP 1 of a game three times and MVP 3 once.

Player to Watch: Aleshia Ocasio

Pitcher Aleshia Ocasio is a player to watch for several reasons heading into Week Five. First, her performances in the circle continue to sharpen week-to-week. Although she only threw five innings last week, she only allowed four hits with two strikeouts and no walks.

Secondly, Ocasio knows what it takes to win. The 2021 Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball Champion is no stranger to being a captain. Throughout her AU career, she holds an 11-11 record as a captain (including AUX). Ocasio has proven that she finds the balance between managing her team and success in the circle.

Tune in for Week 5

Corrick is 230 points out of first place with Ocasio trailing her by just six points, while Lexi Kilfoyl is on her heels by 42 points. Every pitch thrown and inning won will matter in the final standings.

Tune in on Friday, August 23, as the final week kicks off. Team Ocasio will take on Team Corrick at 6 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. CT followed by Team Lorenz vs. Team Kilfoyl at 8:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. CT on Bally Sports.
