SPARKS, Md. — There is just something about the final game of an Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse season that gets attacker Charlotte North going on a straight path towards the league’s record book.

After becoming the first player in league history with a six-goal effort in last year’s finale, the former Boston College standout made another run at the record book by scoring six goals, including a two-point marker, to lead Team Bosco to a 10-9 victory over Team Glynn in the penultimate game of the 2023 campaign at USA Lacrosse Headquarters.

The win allowed Team Bosco to close the final week of the season with a 1-2 record, while Team Glynn also completes the last week with a 1-2 mark.

North, the game’s MVP 1 selection, registered the fourth six-goal performance in the league’s three-year history, including her second career six-goal effort. She also set a new single-game record with 16 shots and closed her second campaign with 176 leaderboard points.

Goalkeeper Kat Buchanan, making her professional debut, claimed MVP 2 recognition after notching three saves in the second quarter while allowing just one goal. The former James Madison netminder tallied 122 leaderboard points.

Defender and team captain Abby Bosco completed the MVP trifecta by earning the MVP 3 award on the strength of two ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. She secured 140 leaderboard points in her final game of the season.

Rookie attacker Livy Rosenzweig led Team Glynn with two goals and two assists, while midfielder Amanda Johansen and attacker Cortney Fortunato each added a pair of tallies. Goalkeeper and team captain Kady Glynn registered 10 saves, including six in the first half.

KEY MOMENT

Trailing by a 7-4 count early in the third quarter, North spearheaded a string of six consecutive points to give Team Bosco a 10-7 edge. North got the rally started with four straight goals in a six-minute span, including her two-point marker that gave Team Bosco its first lead of the game with 4:52 left in the third stanza.

Bosco closed the season with 1,301 leaderboard points and holds fourth place pending the result of the season finale between Team Apuzzo and Team Moreno. Defender Courtney Taylor tallied 149 points in her final game of the season, rising to sixth place in the league standings with 1,131 points.
