Odyssey Sims Re-Signs with Los Angeles Sparks
Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball guard Odyssey Sims has re-signed with the Los Angeles Sparks for the 2025 WNBA season.
Sims rejoins the Sparks after being acquired by the team on Aug. 17, 2024. She averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 assists in 15 games. She previously spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons with LA, appearing in 65 games and averaging 8.9 points with 3.1 assists. She helped the Sparks to the WNBA Finals in 2017.
“I’m so happy to be back,” Sims said in the Sparks’ press release. “I think this is a great fit for me, and I’m so excited to play alongside some great players. It’s time to make some noise in LA. The 2025 season will be a special one.”
She joins AU Pro Basketball Player Executive Committee member Lexie Brown on the Los Angeles roster.
Sims enters her fourth campaign with AU Pro Basketball, which tips off Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Nashville. In three seasons with the league, Sims has appeared in 42 games, averaging 23.5 points, 7.2 assists, and 5.5 rebounds. She medaled for the second time in her AU Pro Basketball career in 2024, securing 2nd place with 6,046 leaderboard points. She became the first player to record two triple-doubles in an AU season. She led the league in assists (117) while ranking third in steals (23). Sims previously medaled in 2023, finishing in 3rd place on the leaderboard with 6,383 points. She led the league in assists (106), minutes played (560), points scored (392), and free throws made (89).
Sims has competed for seven WNBA teams across her 11 seasons since being selected No. 2 overall by the Tulsa Shock in the 2014 WNBA Draft. She has appeared in 292 regular-season games with 197 starts and owns an 11.2 career point-per-game average. She has also played in South Korea and Turkey.
