Morgan Hentz leads USA Past Canada at FIVB World Championships
Morgan Hentz drew the starting libero assignment once again as the U.S. Women’s National Team swept Canada, 3–0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-21), in the Round of 16 at the 2025 FIVB World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
The win advanced the Americans to the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of the match between Turkey and Slovenia on September 4.
Holding Down the Backcourt
Hentz delivered a steady performance in the back row, finishing with a team-high 11 digs while adding five successful receptions. Her control against Canada’s serve helped steady the U.S., which hit at an efficient clip and outpaced Canada in both kills and blocks.

What’s Next
The sweep over Canada kept the U.S. unbeaten at 4-0 in the tournament. With the quarterfinals looming, Hentz’s reliability in serve receive and her ability to extend rallies will be critical as the Americans prepare for stiffer competition. A matchup against either Turkey or Slovenia awaits, with a semifinal berth on the line.
