Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball has signed veteran Meighan Simmons to compete in the 2025 season in Nashville, Tennessee.

Simmons was selected in the third round of the 2014 WNBA draft by the New York Liberty but was waived during the preseason. She was later signed as a free agent to the Atlanta Dream, who she competed with for two seasons. She has played internationally for clubs in Spain, France, Israel, Italy, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and the United Emirates.

Most recently, Simmons played for Sporting Club Beirut in Lebanon.

This season will be a homecoming for Simmons to the state of Tennessee; she played collegiately at the University of Tennessee for legendary college basketball coach Pat Summit. Summit nicknamed her “Speedy” and called Simmons “one of the fastest players I’ve ever coached.”

She was a four-year starter for the Volunteers and a two-time SEC Player of the Year award winner. Simmons was just the fifth Lady Vol in program history to reach the 2,000-point plateau, finishing her UT career with 2,064 points.
