Hentz, Drews Join AU Pro Volleyball Player Executive Committee
Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball’s Player Executive Committee (PEC) has added fresh leadership ahead of Season 5 this fall.
Three-time Defensive Player of the Year Morgan Hentz has stepped into her new PEC role alongside 2022 podium finisher Dani Drews.
Hentz began her AU career in 2022 and has since dominated the league defensively. She set a record with 242 digs over 15 matches in 2024 and holds the single-match record with 25 digs. The Stanford alum is also known for her volunteer efforts and was a 2024 finalist for the Civic Leadership Award, presented by EY, for her advocacy for neurodivergent individuals and work with New Perceptions in Northern Kentucky.
Drews finished third on the leaderboard in 2022 with 3,308 points after tallying 222 kills and 119 digs in her debut season. The outside hitter returned in 2024 and placed sixth with 3,192 points. She has appeared in all 90 sets over her two seasons and holds an AU career average of 4.32 kills and 2.82 digs per set.
Hentz and Drews will fill the spots left by Erin Fairs and Taylor Bruns Tegenrot, who completed two-year terms on the PEC.
Fairs is a four-year AU veteran with 45 career matches and 105 sets played. She competed in the league’s inaugural season in 2021 alongside former PEC chairperson and current Director of Volleyball Cassidy Lichtman.
“Erin has dedicated so much time to the PEC over the last couple of years, and her input has helped us immensely,” Lichtman said. “She brings a sense of humor along with a dedication to the sport that has helped us build the incredible culture at AU.”
Like Fairs, Bruns Tegenrot has four AU seasons under her belt and has made her mark both on and off the court. In 2024, she was named Teammate of the Year for her leadership, positive influence, and character.
“As evidenced by her Teammate of the Year award in 2024, Taylor is the consummate teammate, and that holds true for her time on the PEC,” Lichtman said. “She has been instrumental in recruiting and planning for the last two seasons, and her mark on this league will be felt for years to come.”
Hentz and Drews will join Molly McCage, Tori Dixon, and Alisha Glass Childress, who will continue their terms on the PEC.
McCage is the longest-serving member of the committee. Since joining the PEC at its inception in 2021, she is now entering her fifth year and will continue as chairperson after assuming the role in 2023. Dixon and Childress will enter their second and third seasons, respectively, bringing a wealth of professional experience and insight to the committee.
AU Pro Volleyball will return this fall with its fifth season. Location details and player signings will be announced this spring.
