Defending Defensive POY Shey Peddy Signs for AU Pro Basketball Season 5
Shey Peddy is returning to Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball this winter, bringing her two-way impact and veteran leadership back to Nashville for Season 5.
Peddy was the league’s 2025 Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Defensive Team selection after finishing 12th on the leaderboard with 3,741 points and delivering six double-figure scoring performances.
Peddy played in all 12 AU games last season and finished strong by starting every matchup in Week Four. She posted her season high of 20 points against Team Caldwell and earned MVP 3 the night before after a 15-point outing built on efficient shooting and three assists. She added another strong outing to round out Week Three with 510 leaderboard points, and capped her season with 11 points and six rebounds against Team Siegrist.
Her 2025 WNBA season was split between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Indiana Fever. After appearing in six games with the Sparks, Peddy joined Indiana and became an important late-season addition as the Fever battled multiple injuries. She appeared in 17 games for the Fever and reached double figures in seven of them, including a 20-point performance against the Mystics heading into the playoffs. She closed the regular season averaging 5.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
Peddy’s professional career began when she was selected 23rd overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2012 WNBA Draft. She made her league debut in 2019 and went on to play for Washington and Phoenix before her most recent stops in Los Angeles and Indiana. Her past stints include contributing 9.9 points per game during her standout 2022 season with Phoenix and helping lead the London Lions to the 2023 EuroCup championship. She has also competed overseas in Turkey and Latvia.
Before going pro, Peddy built an accomplished college career at Wright State and Temple. She earned four All-Conference selections, including three First Team honors, and became the 2011-12 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. She remains Temple’s single-season steals leader and is the only player in program history to record 100 or more steals in multiple seasons.
Now AU’s 2025 Defensive Player of the Year is set to defend that title in Music City, where she’ll join the high-caliber 2026 roster.
AU Pro Basketball returns to Nashville, Tennessee, with elite talent and electrifying energy, for its fifth championship season on February 4, 2026, at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Tickets for the upcoming season are available now.
