Each year, Adweek celebrates women in sports with its Most Powerful Women in Sports.

The seventh edition of the annual list of honorees includes Athletes Unlimited’s Cassidy Lichtman. Lichtman, a former AU Volleyball player, is the Director of Sport for Volleyball and has progressed through many vital roles within AUand the broader volleyball community.

The honorees for Adweek’s Most Powerful Women in Sports are stellar company to keep; Lichtman is honored alongside Serena and Venus Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Sue Bird and Sylvia Fowles, and many more accomplished women in the sports space.

Adweek describes them as “the sporting world’s MVPs who are at the top of their game.”

An early signee for the inaugural Volleyball season, Lichtman was the first chair of the Volleyball Player Executive Committee. To cap off a successful year helping launch AU’s second sport, she was added to the Board of Directors in December of 2021 as the athlete representative.

In 2022, she finished fourth on the leaderboard out of the 44 athletes competing, earning her a medal. It was a high note to end on before transitioning to her new role. She is also the founder of her nonprofit P/ATH.

Whether they're breaking down barriers, inspiring new ideas, or brokering major partnerships, these are the most influential players leading the charge in the business of sports.
