Q&A with AU Pro Basketball signee Emily Engstler

1. What made you want to play with AU Hoops?

I wanted to play in a competitive league and be able to put some confidence back in my game.

2. What aspect of your game have you been focused on developing the most?

I have been mainly focused on my footwork and going back to the basics. I want to perfect my footwork and gain more effective post moves for the upcoming season.

3. How did growing up in Queens and playing basketball in NY affect your style and how you play the game?

Growing up in Queens and NYC in general will always play a role in my game. It always gave me this grit and crafty energy that I played with most of my career … To grow up playing pick-up with men and women all around NYC has allowed me to gain a certain level of toughness that I think is displayed in my game often.

4. Do you have any goals or expectations you’ve set for the upcoming season?

I just want to be as consistent as I possibly can be.
