Thompson Tops Week 1 Leaderboard, Leads Gold Team in Week 2
An undefeated week for Team Hentz propelled four of its members to the top of the Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship leaderboard. Jordan Thompson (Gold), Natalia Valentin-Anderson (Orange), Morgan Hentz (Blue), and Claire Hoffman (Purple) will serve as captains in Week Two.
Team Hentz took 7-of-8 sets from its opponents for 280 points in addition to three match wins (180 points).
Thompson (1,023) wasted no time making an impact in her debut AU Pro Volleyball season. She ranks first in all point categories with 460 win points, 423 stat points, and 140 MVP points. The two-time Olympian posted two 20-kill outings and leads the league with 52 on the season.
Behind her with 885 points is Valentin-Anderson, who tops the assists category with 116. She ranks second behind Hentz in digs (33) and also has three blocks. The setter earned two MVP 2 honors for 80 points.
Week One captain Hentz (755 points) returns as a captain this week. Hentz leads the league with 37 digs and added eight assists. She received MVP honors in two matches — an MVP 3 (20 points) and MVP 2 (40 points) nod.
Rounding out the Week Two captains is first-time captain Hoffman (743 points), who helped lead Team Hentz with a season-high 13 kills in a sweep of Team Kingdon Rishel to cap Week One. She has 26 kills through three matches this season.
