Katie Ramsay
Biography
Personal: Ramsay majored in business administration with a minor in sports media studies at USC. She aspires to have a career in sports marketing with an agency or brand. Ramsay holds a master's degree in entrepreneurship and innovation from USC. She enjoys experiential marketing and developing creative campaigns and activations. Ramsay is the daughter of Sherry and Brian Ramsay and has two siblings. Her brother, Jack, is a senior at the University of Virginia, and her sister, Maggie, completed her freshman year as an attacker on the USC lacrosse team in 2023. Ramsay's mother played field hockey at Virginia from 1986-1989, and her aunt, Barbara Deutsch, played field hockey at Virginia from 1980-1983. Her hobbies include skiing and making art. During her high school career at Darien High School, Ramsay was named an Under Armour All-American and served as a team captain. She credits current Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse player Sammy Jo Tracy as someone who has made a difference in her life. If she were not playing lacrosse, Ramsay would choose to be a soccer player. She enjoys drawing, painting, trying new food, and has an interest in fashion, even designing her own shoes.
At USC: Ramsay was a five-year letter winner and started 51 out of 80 games at USC from 2019-2023. She never missed a game throughout her college career and served as a team captain for two seasons. Ramsay finished her career with 73 goals and 13 assists, along with 184 draw controls, 75 ground balls, and 49 caused turnovers. She led the Women of Troy to three NCAA Tournament appearances and helped them win the Pac-12 Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2023. Ramsay ranked fourth on USC's career draw controls list and continued to excel in her graduate year, starting all 20 games and contributing 16 goals and two assists. She tied for the team lead with 76 draw controls and helped USC achieve a 16-4 record. Ramsay had four multi-goal games in her final college season. As a senior, she started all 18 games, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists. She ranked third on the team with 57 draw controls and added 23 ground balls. In her junior year, Ramsay played in 16 games with seven starts, scoring 17 goals and three assists, including three hat tricks. She started all six games in the shortened 2020 season due to COVID-19 and led USC with 18 draw controls. Ramsay began her college career with 20 goals and four assists in 20 games during the 2019 campaign. She was recognized twice on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and also received the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll distinction in 2022.
