Brianne Gross
Biography
Personal: Gross earned a bachelor's degree in engineering science and a master's degree in engineering management from Vanderbilt. She is the daughter of Randy and Donna Gross and has three siblings. Her brother, Evan, played basketball at the University of Oregon and was part of the team that won the Pac-12 Conference regular season title and reached the NCAA Final Four in 2017.
International Experience: Gross has international experience as a member of the 2019 United States U-19 National Team. The team had an impressive 7-0 record at the World Lacrosse U-19 Women’s World Championship and won the Gold medal. In her seven games played, Gross contributed two assists and ranked second on the team with 33 draw controls. She was recognized for her outstanding performance by being named to the All-World Team and earning Player of the Match honors against Australia.
At Vanderbilt: Gross played 74 games from 2019-2023. She scored a total of 118 goals and provided 49 assists. Additionally, she accumulated 118 ground balls and caused 62 turnovers. Gross set a school record with 282 draw controls, including an impressive 84 draw controls during the 2021 season. She is one of only 16 players in program history to score 100 or more career goals and currently ranks 10th in school history with 167 career points. Gross received All-American Athletic Conference honors twice, earning First-Team recognition as a senior and Second-Team recognition as a graduate student. She was also recognized as an Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine in her senior year. In 2021, Gross was named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region Second Team. As a graduate student, Gross had a successful season, scoring 25 points with 19 goals and six assists. She had several standout performances, including three-goal games against Louisville, Penn State, and Rutgers. During her junior year, Gross led the team with 31 goals and 84 draw controls, while also contributing 13 assists. In the shortened 2020 season due to COVID-19, she scored a team-high 25 goals in just nine games, including seven goals against No. 13 Michigan. As a freshman, Gross played in 14 games and scored 12 goals, ranking third among the team's rookies.
