AU Pro Basketball Impact Weeks
Impact Weeks are opportunities for Athletes Unlimited and its athletes to highlight a specific cause, national observance, community partner, or AU initiative through targeted weekly programming, athlete experiences, and game presentations both in-venue and throughout broadcast content and activations. Themes for impact weeks are driven and chosen by the Player Executive Committees of each sport.

2026 Impact Weeks Overview
National Girls and Women in Sports Day – Feb. 4, 2026
National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is a celebration that inspires girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power.
NGWSD began in 1987 as a special day in our nation’s capital to recognize women’s sports. The day united premiere organizations and elite women athletes to bring national attention to the promise of girls and women in sports.
Athlete Causes – Week 2
Athlete Causes was designed not only to allow athletes to support causes about which they’re passionate, but also to amplify their voices on those issues and support their engagement.
At the end of each season, Athletes Unlimited, powered by Give Lively and the Give Lively Foundation, makes a grant equal to 100% of the athlete’s end-of-season win bonus to the non-profit of the athlete’s choice. This season, our athletes are playing for causes that support youth sports, health research, hunger, animals, mental health, youth development, and more.
Our Court. Our Story. – Week 3
Chosen by the Basketball Player Executive Committee, Our Court. Our Story. centers the dynamic history of women’s basketball and celebrates the legends that have shaped the game, broken barriers, and laid the foundation for the next generation of hoopers.
AU Pro Basketball has partnered with Legends of the Ball to help celebrate this history. Legends of the Ball works to promote the historic and social relevance of the WBL (the first women’s professional basketball league is the U.S.) to inspire future generations to break through barriers, realize their potential, and become leaders for positive change.

I Am Unlimited
Chosen by our Basketball Player Executive Committee, I Am Unlimited is dedicated to empowering the next generation of girls to live boldly, play fearlessly, and embody everything they dream they can be. Just as our athletes have shown, there are no limits to the greatness any of us can achieve.
As part of this week’s activations, we’ve partnered with Creative Girls Rock to host junior content creators, emcees, and photographers that allow young girls to shadow members of the AU team and be a part of executing today’s gameday activities. Plus, our AU Pro Basketball athletes attended a workshop with girls from local middle and high schools where they shared personal messages of empowerment and inner strength that they use in times of adversity.
2024 Impact Weeks Overview
Our basketball athletes celebrated International Women’s Day, Athlete Causes, and Black Women in the Military for their impact weeks. In celebration of Black Women in the Military, AU partnered with The U.S. Air Force and nonprofit group, National Association of Black Military Women, to host a panel discussion with our athletes and Black women who have and are currently serving to share their experiences. We also hosted a swear-in ceremony for the USAF’s Delayed Entry Program during halftime of one of our games and our athletes volunteered at Solider’s Angels to help assemble and deliver food packages to veterans in need.
2023 Impact Weeks Overview
Our basketball athletes celebrated Black Women’s History, Special Olympics, and Athlete Causes for their impact weeks. These celebrations included: a shoot-a-thon in partnership with sportscaster Debbi Antonelli to raise money for the Special Olympics and their athletes during halftime of one of our games, and a panel discussion at Paul Quinn College celebrating former Black WNBA legends alongside current pro athletes.
