Kelsey Mitchell

Personal: Beyond basketball, Mitchell enjoys going to the movies and reading fictional novels. Her athletic endeavors as a child included participation in soccer, track and field, and karate. She has a twin sister and was inducted into the Princeton High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020. If not a basketball player, Mitchell would be an athletic director and acknowledges her parents as significant figures in her life.

2023 Season: In her second year in AU Pro Basketball, Mitchell secured ninth place on the league's final leaderboard with 5,386 points. She showcased an impressive performance, accumulating 2,526 stat points and ranking second in the league with 510 win points. Mitchell's standout moments included notching 500 or more leaderboard points in a game five times, achieving a career-high 628 points against Team Cloud in the Week One finale. She tied the league lead with nine Game MVP awards, setting a single-season record with 48 made three-pointers and a 111 three-point field goal attempts. Mitchell stood fourth in the league with a .432 three-point field goal percentage and an average of 21.1 points per game. She consistently reached double figures in scoring, recording nine 20-point performances, including three games with 25 or more points. Notably, she tied the Athletes Unlimited single-game record by sinking six three-pointers against Team Cole and replicated this feat against Team Sims. Mitchell ended the season strongly, with notable performances in her final seven outings.

2022 Season: In the inaugural season, Mitchell started 11 games but missed four due to involvement with USA Basketball at the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament in Washington, D.C. Despite this, she emerged as the league's fourth-leading scorer, averaging 20.5 points per game and securing 11th place on the leaderboard with 4,305 points. Her remarkable performances included a season-high 608 points against Team Sims. Mitchell consistently scored in double figures in all 11 games, boasting five outings with 20 or more points and two 30-point performances. Notably, she led in various statistical categories, including a .962 free throw percentage, and ended the year making 25-of-26 attempts at the charity stripe.

Other Professional Experience: Mitchell's professional career includes being drafted with the No. 2 overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2018 WNBA Draft. Over six seasons with the Fever, she started in 162-of-193 games, accumulating 3,156 career points while maintaining a 41.6 percent field goal percentage and an .841 free throw percentage. Her achievements include breaking the Indiana Fever single-game record with 38 points in 2019 and setting a WNBA record with teammate Victoria Vivians by making 135 three-pointers during their rookie season.
