Biography
Personal: Berger is the daughter of Todd and Mary Charlotte Berger and graduated from Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in sports marketing and management.
2024 Season: Berger finished her first Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball season with 2,498 leaderboard points. She started all 12 games after joining the roster on February 25 as an injury replacement for Evina Westbrook. She averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest, along with 51 assists and 13 steals. Berger had four double-digit scoring performances. She received MVP 2 accolades and a season-high 522 leaderboard points after matching her season high with 16 points against Team Cloud on March 22. During that game, she made 5 of 12 field goal attempts and 5 of 6 free throws, while also adding six rebounds and six assists. Berger began the season with consecutive double-digit scoring outputs, tallying 10 points against Team Gray in the season opener before setting a season high with a 16-point outburst against Team Sims on March 2. She registered a season-high seven assists against Team Gray on March 16 and ended Week Three by grabbing a season-high nine rebounds against Team Sims.
Other Professional Experience: Berger is a three-year WNBA veteran who has appeared in 66 career games with 13 starts, holding a 3.7 career scoring average while contributing 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per outing. She was selected with the No. 7 overall pick by Indiana in the 2023 WNBA Draft. As a reserve during her rookie season with the Fever, she appeared in all 36 games, averaging 4.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and sinking 84.0 percent of her free throw attempts. She reached double figures in scoring five times, including a season-high 15 points against New York on July 12, 2023, a game where she also grabbed a season-high seven rebounds. She had two 14-point performances against Los Angeles (August 8) and Seattle (August 24). Berger played in 11 games with Indiana during the 2024 campaign. She split the 2025 season between Dallas and Los Angeles, playing one game with Los Angeles before being signed by Dallas for the remainder of the season. She started in 13 of 18 games with the Wings, averaging 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds. She competed for Gernika KESB in Spain during the 2023 WNBA off-season and also spent time with OGM Ormanspor in Turkey during 2024.
International Experience: Berger led Team USA to a Gold medal and a perfect 6-0 record at the 2021 AmeriCup. She averaged 5.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest. She shot 42.3 percent from the field in addition to an 81.8 percent success rate at the free throw line, and she scored 15 points with five rebounds and three assists in the quarterfinal victory over the Virgin Islands.
At Indiana: Berger was a five-year letter winner at Indiana who started 118 of 148 games for the Hoosiers from 2018-23, leading the team to 118 wins during her career, the most of any player in program history. She is a four-time All-Big Ten Conference selection, including First-Team notice in each of her final three seasons. She received Honorable Mention distinction on the WBCA All-America Team four times and was a two-time Honorable Mention pick on the Associated Press All-America Team. Berger was named a Top 10 Finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award in 2021 and 2022 and was a Second-Team College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honoree as a fifth-year senior. She was also a member of the 2022 Big Ten All-Tournament Team. She is second in school history with 573 career assists, ranks seventh with 1,841 career points, and stands eighth on the Hoosiers’ career free throws made (359) and attempted (484) lists. Berger finished her career in 10th place on Indiana’s rebounding list with 752 caroms. She led the Hoosiers in scoring as a senior with a 16.2 average and also paced the squad in assists and steals during her junior and senior seasons. As a senior, she was a starter in 24 games, averaging 12.9 points and 5.8 assists per outing, and reached double figures in scoring 18 times, including a season-high 26 points against No. 6 Iowa. She collected three double-doubles while shooting 48.4 percent from the field. As a senior, she started all 33 games and led the Hoosiers by averaging 16.2 points and 4.7 assists per game, netting 20 or more points eight times, including a career-high 29 points against Michigan State on February 12, 2022. She earned a starting assignment in all 27 games during her junior campaign, contributing 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. She notched an NCAA-leading three triple-doubles in the 2020-21 season to establish a new Indiana career record and had seven games of 20 or more points as a junior. She started 30 games as a sophomore during the COVID-shortened 2019-20 campaign, ranking second on the team with a 13.1 scoring average while contributing 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per outing. She opened her career in the 2018-19 season by appearing in 34 games with four starts, averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game as a freshman.
