- A 15-time Capital Region Emmy Award winner for excellence in play-by-play, Joe has twice been named D.C. Sportscaster of the Year.
- Joe will begin his 26th season of National Hockey League TV play-by-play with the Washington Capitals this fall as the lead voice on NBC Sports Washington.
- He calls collegiate regular-season and conference tournament action on Big Ten Network, and has delivered NCAA Tournament games on ESPNU and ESPN2, voicing the Women’s Division 1 National Championship Game six times.
- At the pro level, the 2020 season was his 16th year describing the play nationally for Major League Lacrosse on the ESPN family of networks and locally throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Beninati has been the TV voice of the World Series of Youth Lacrosse on ESPN2 since 2015.
- In the summer of 2020, Beninati was honored with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Capital Region) Board of Governor’s Award, presented for truly outstanding achievement and unique accomplishment.
- On the football gridiron, Beninati is approaching his 7th season calling collegiate Big Ten football action on Big Ten Network.
