Sami Williams is a 5-foot-8 professional softball infielder from Laguna Niguel, California. She was acquired in the 4th Round of the 2026 Allocation Draft following a collegiate career at Iowa State.

Hobbies: Enjoys spending time outside, trying new restaurants and watching baseball.

Education & Career: Earned a bachelor’s in software engineering and a master’s in information systems; currently works as a senior software engineer for the Chicago Cubs.

Awards: Received the 2025 Katy Feeney Leadership Award from Major League Baseball.

Professional Experience

2026 AUSL Postseason (Chicago Bandits): Williams earned the starting assignment in all three of the Bandits' postseason games.

2026 AUSL Regular Season (Chicago Bandits): Williams started all 25 games and finished as the second-leading hitter in the AUSL with a .427 average, tying for the league lead with 32 hits. She established AUSL single-season records with 12 doubles and 34 runs batted in, while also ranking second in the league with a .495 on-base percentage and third with a .893 slugging percentage. She paced the AUSL with 12 multi-hit games during the regular season, including a pair of three-hit efforts, and accumulated a league-high 67 total bases. On June 30, against Portland, Williams matched the AUSL single-game record with seven runs batted in, going 3-for-4 with a double and a grand slam. She posted a .560 average (14-for-25) during an eight-game hitting streak from June 22 to July 4, hitting five home runs and driving in 23 runs during that stretch. She closed out the season by recording a hit in five of her final seven games, including three multi-hit outings.

2021 AU Pro Softball Championship Season: Compiled 690 points in the 2021 Championship Season, recording her first professional hit on August 30, 2021.

Other Professional Experience

WPF (2023): Hit .219 over 30 games with the Oklahoma City Spark in 2023, tallying one home run and nine RBIs.

College Experience: Iowa State (2017–2021)

Williams set the program record by playing in 257 career games, leading the Cyclones in hits, batting average, and home runs all five seasons.

Career Milestones: She tallied 79 career doubles, ranking fifth in NCAA history, and stands as Iowa State's all-time leader in hits (332), home runs (67), RBIs (180), and runs scored (214).

Senior Year (2021): Set program records by hitting .446 with 21 home runs and 66 runs scored.
