Athletes Unlimited Softball signed three middle infielders for the upcoming seasons this summer. Kelsey Harshman, Abby Ramirez and Andrea Filler fill three out of twelve roster spots for the position for Championship Season; Ramirez and Filler will also compete in AUX.

Kelsey Harshman is a member of 2022 Athletes Unlimited Softball All-Defensive Team who enjoyed the best finish of her three-year AU career. She was a starter in all 15 games, logged a .333 batting average, had 15 hits and entered the captain’s role for the first time as an AU athlete.

Some of her season highlights include making SportsCenter Top 10 Plays on July 31 for her unassisted, diving double play.

Just the day before, she hit the winning RBI single for Team Eberle. It marked the first time in the three-year history of AU Softball that a game ended with a 1-0 score.

Harshman has a wealth of international experience as well; she prepared for the 2022 season competing with Team Canada at the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama. She is also a Bronze medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Chicago native Abby Ramirez has also been a staple in the league, entering her fourth season as a second baseman.

During 2022’s championship season, she finished in 22nd place on the leaderboard with 1,268 points and was in the Top 10 for win points on the year. Ramirez started in 11 out of 14 games. She posted season-high three hits against Team Jaquish on Aug. 14 where she just missed hitting the cycle: she had a double in the second inning, RBI single in the fifth inning, and a triple to center field in the top of the seventh inning.

Andrea Filler is a first-year performer who started in 13-of-15 games. In her rookie year, she batted .256 with two doubles and a triple and also drove in five runs during the 2022 Championship season.

Her pro career got off to a hot start, finishing seventh place on the final leaderboard at AUX. She hit .265 while scoring nine runs. Filler put together a four-game hitting streak from June 14-18, going 6-for-15 during that span. Her first AU homer came on June 15th, a solo shot against Team Eberle.

Filler has dual citizenship in Italy and the United States and represented Italy at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Athletes Unlimited Softball returns with AUon June 12.
