It was a double dub week for the Omaha Supernovas as they picked up wins against the Grand Rapid Rise and Vegas Thrill in Week 9 of the Pro Volleyball Federation.

At the helm of the offense in both victories was setter Sydney Hilley who not only had her best personal performances of the season but was recognized by the league as the Player of the Week.

Hilley broke the franchise record for assists with 51 assists in four sets against the Rise.

She surpassed the previous record set by teammate Natalia Valentin-Anderson who had 50 assists for the Supernovas against the Rise on February 12. Hilley also logged 15 digs and kept the Rise defense on their toes with five kills.

Her dominance continued into the team’s match against the Vegas Thrill on Saturday. Hilley dished 35 assists and tied a team-high 11 digs. The Supernovas swept the Thrill in three sets.

Brooke Nuneviller’s connection with Hilley heated up in both matches; Nuneviller established a new franchise record for most kills (24) and digs (22) in a single match against the Rise. She had only 3 errors on 63 attack attempts. Nuneviller also led the teams with 11 kills in their win over the Thrill.

Upcoming

The Supernovas return to their home court on Thursday, April 4 to take on the Columbus Fury at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
