Biography
Personal: Cockerville is the daughter of Todd and Kristin Cockerille. She is one of four children in her family. Cockerville majored in human development and family science at Syracuse. On June 21, 2023, she was named assistant women’s lacrosse coach at UMBC. Additionally, she also competed in field hockey, volleyball, and basketball during her high school career at Roland Park Country School.
International Experience: Cockerville was a member of the Haudenosaunee Women’s National Team. She competed in the first-ever Sixes Lacrosse game in 2021 and earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 2021 Sixes Tournament.
College Experience: Cockerville was a five-year letter winner at Syracuse. She started 46 of 73 games from 2019-2023, guiding the Orange to a 73-19 record and four NCAA Tournament berths. This included a Championship Game appearance in 2021. Throughout her college career, Cockerville scored 76 career goals with 53 assists. She also collected 47 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers. Cockerville earned Third-Team IWLCA All-America status as a graduate student after leading the Orange to an NCAA semifinal appearance. She was a two-time Second-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection. Cockerville registered a career-high 28 goals while starting 20 of 21 games as a graduate student, including notable three-goal performances against Boston College and Virginia Tech. She started the first five games of the 2022 campaign before suffering a season-ending injury. As a junior, Cockerville claimed First-Team IWLCA All-Northeast Region status after collecting 50 points, including 22 goals and 28 assists. Notably, she tallied a career-high five goals against Notre Dame on March 11, 2021. Cockerville appeared in all eight games as a sophomore during the COVID-shortened season, ranking fifth on the team with 12 goals, five assists, and 17 points. She opened her college career by appearing in 18 games during the 2019 season, where she scored nine goals with four assists as a freshman.
