Meg Douty

Personal: Douty is a member of Athletes Unlimited Pro Lacrosse’s Player Executive Committee. She was named assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Monmouth University on September 6, 2023. She started playing lacrosse in the fourth grade and founded All Lax LLC, a lacrosse training company that incorporates skill work, strength and conditioning, and nutrition, with Monmouth midfielder Alex Marino. Douty majored in kinesiology at Maryland and played numerous sports as a child, including soccer, ice hockey, tennis, golf, and lacrosse. She wears No. 29 because it is the same number she wears for Team USA.

2023 Season: Douty earned 11th place result in the final league standings with 1,070 leaderboard points. She accumulated 855 win points, holding a share of seventh place in the league with Lizzie Colson. Douty was a starter in all 12 games and tallied 17 ground balls with 14 caused turnovers. She earned MVP 3 honors on July 29 against Team Apuzzo after recording two ground balls and three caused turnovers. Douty also had two ground balls in a game five other times and closed Week One with three caused turnovers in back-to-back games against Team Apuzzo and Team Mastroianni. She earned 100 or more leaderboard points six times, including a season-high 171 points against Team Apuzzo on July 22.



2022 Season: Douty tied for 10th in the league with 12 caused turnovers. She accumulated 875 leaderboard points, with a season-high of 109 points against Team Moreno in Week Three. Douty consistently earned 100 or more points in four of the final six games. She also showcased her defensive skills by recording at least one caused turnover in 8 out of 12 games. Douty's highest number of caused turnovers in a single game was three, which she achieved against Team Moreno in Week Two.

2021 Season: Douty scored 1,106 leaderboard points, including five games with 100 or more points. She unfortunately missed four games due to an injury. In 11 games, Douty secured 18 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. She scored her only goal of the season against Team Treanor on July 18. Douty's season-high for ground balls was three, achieved against Team Warden on July 30 and against Team Arsenault on August 15. She also had a season-high of three caused turnovers against Team Ohlmiller in the Week One finale on July 25.

International Experience: Douty has represented Team USA since 2014. She contributed to Team USA's fourth consecutive title at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship. In the 2017 World Cup, Douty helped Team USA win the gold medal and earned All-World Team honors. She played in eight games, tallying 13 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Douty also played a crucial role in Team USA's gold medal victory at the 2017 World Games in Poland, leading the team with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in four appearances.

Other Professional Experience: Douty played nine games with the Long Island Sound of the United Women’s Lacrosse League during the 2016 season. Douty also spent two seasons with the New England Command of the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League, earning All-Star Team distinction in 2018 and 2019. She helped Command win the inaugural WPLL championship and secured eight ground balls with four draw controls in the 2019 campaign.

At Maryland: Douty attended the University of Maryland and was a four-year letter winner. She appeared in 90 games from 2012-2015 and contributed two goals and five assists. Douty also excelled defensively, securing 113 ground balls and 66 caused turnovers. She played a pivotal role in leading the Terrapins to two NCAA Division I titles. Douty received numerous accolades, including two-time IWLCA All-America selection, IWLCA Division I Defender of the Year in 2014 and 2015, and 2015 Big Ten Conference Defender of the Year. She was a finalist for the 2014 Tewaaraton Award. In her senior year, Douty recorded 30 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers, anchoring a Maryland defensive unit that allowed an average of 7.95 goals per game in 2014.
