Hannah Dorney
Biography
Personal: Dorney has an older brother named Ryan who played lacrosse at SUNY Geneseo. She is the daughter of Meaghan and Patrick Dorney.
At Notre Dame: Dorney played lacrosse for five years. During her time at Notre Dame, she appeared in 80 games and scored 45 goals with 15 assists. She also collected 119 ground balls and caused 73 turnovers. Dorney served as team captain in her final two seasons with the Fighting Irish. As a graduate student, she was named a Second-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer and led Notre Dame to an NCAA quarterfinal appearance. In the 2023 season, she scored 11 goals, including two-goal efforts against Central Michigan and Virginia. Dorney played in all 19 games as a senior, collecting 36 ground balls and leading the team with 28 caused turnovers. She also contributed nine goals and three assists. In 2022, she was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team. As a junior, she played in 14 games and had five goals and six assists. In the COVID-shortened 2020 season, she played in all seven games, scoring four goals and three assists. Her best offensive season was as a freshman, where she scored 16 goals and had six assists. Dorney had five multi-goal games during her rookie season, including hat tricks against Kent State and Stanford. She was also a teammate of current Athletes Unlimited player Andie Aldave for three years at Notre Dame.
