Ally Palermo
Biography
Personal: Palermo majored in communication studies at Northwestern and also earned her Master's degree in content strategy from the same university. She is the daughter of Robert and Patricia Palermo.
2022 Season: Palermo started in 11 out of 12 games as a rookie. She accumulated 919 leaderboard points and ended the season with three consecutive 100-point performances. Throughout the season, Palermo recorded 17 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. She scored her first professional goal during the Week Four opener against Team Glynn, where she also registered four ground balls and three caused turnovers, earning her a season-high of 187 leaderboard points. Palermo had two caused turnovers in three other games as well. She was one of the 15 players selected in the Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse College Draft.
International Experience: Palermo has also represented the United States in lacrosse. She was a member of the 2019 USA Under-19 training team.
At Northwestern: Palermo played for five years and started in 77 out of 79 games from 2018 to 2022. She scored two goals and provided seven assists throughout her career. Palermo also recorded 146 ground balls and 76 caused turnovers for the Wildcats. She was a three-time All-Big Ten Conference performer, earning First-Team recognition in 2021 and 2022. In her fifth year as a senior, Palermo was selected as a Third-Team All-America by the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse. She also received Honorable Mention All-America status from USA Lacrosse Magazine. During the 2022 season, Palermo helped lead the Wildcats to the NCAA semifinals, starting in 20 games and registering a team-high of 37 ground balls and 24 draw controls. In her senior year, she played in 16 games, recording 30 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. Palermo started in all seven games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, accumulating 17 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. As a sophomore, she started in 13 out of 15 contests, recording 27 ground balls and six caused turnovers. In her rookie year, Palermo started in 21 games, recording 35 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers, and one goal with four assists.
