Biography
Personal: Sarah Ashlee Barker is the daughter of Jay Barker and Amy Barker Rozell, and she has three brothers. Her brother, Braxton, served as an offensive graduate assistant for the Alabama football team, and her brother, Harrison, played football at UAB. She majored in health and physical education at Alabama. She was the recipient of the 2019-2020 Gatorade Alabama Girls Basketball Player of the Year award. She is the first player in Spain Park High School history to be named Miss Basketball by the Alabama Sports Writers Association after earning the award in 2019-2020. Her No. 10 jersey was retired by Spain Park High School on December 5, 2025.
Other Professional Experience: Sarah Ashlee Barker was the No. 9 overall selection by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2025 WNBA Draft. As a rookie, she appeared in 34 games with eight starts, averaging 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. She netted a season-high 15 points against Las Vegas in the season finale on September 11, 2025, and also contributed 12 points against Seattle on June 17, 2025.
At Alabama: Sarah Ashlee Barker spent her freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia before playing three years at Alabama. She earned First-Team All-Southeastern Conference status in each of her final two seasons at Alabama and was a member of the 2021 SEC All-Freshman Team at Georgia. Over 147 total games, she compiled 1,642 career points. She shot 44.2 percent from the field, including a .329 mark from three-point range, and also grabbed 724 rebounds with 378 assists over her five seasons. She is one of five players in Alabama history to surpass 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 250 assists during their career with the Crimson Tide. As a graduate student at Alabama, she was a starter in 28 games and led the Crimson Tide with an 18.2 scoring average, posting 20 or more points in a game 10 times. On March 24, 2025, she set an Alabama single-game record with a 45-point performance against Maryland in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. During the 2023-2024 campaign, she earned a starting assignment in 33 games and was a First-Team All-SEC honoree who averaged 16.8 points per game while posting 11 games with 20 or more points. In her inaugural campaign at Alabama in 2022-2023, she appeared in 31 games with 28 starts, contributing 6.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. As a sophomore at Georgia, she tallied 7.7 points per game while making 31 appearances. She started her college career by playing in 24 games at Georgia during the 2020-2021 season, where she authored four double-digit scoring performances and secured a pair of SEC Freshman of the Week citations.
