Biography
Personal: Dyaisha Fair is the daughter of Shatara Fair and Terrance Pradia and is one of four children in her family. She was a three-time team captain in high school.
Other Professional Experience: Dyaisha Fair was selected by the Las Vegas Aces with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and made her WNBA debut against Indiana on May 25, 2024. She also played overseas in Saudi Arabia.
International Experience: Fair competed for Team USA at the 2023 3x3 U-23 Women’s World Cup and also played for Team USA at the 2023 3x3 U-23 Nations League, where she led the United States to a first-place finish in the conference and an appearance in the Nations League final.
At Syracuse: Fair was a two-year letter winner at Syracuse after playing three seasons at Buffalo. Fair is the third-leading scorer in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history with 3,403 career points. She also grabbed 749 career rebounds across 153 total games and is tied for 10th in NCAA Division I history with 430 career made three-point field goals. She averaged 22.2 points per game during her career. At Syracuse, she started 63 of 65 games and finished with 1,368 points. She played 5,604 career minutes, the second-most by any NCAA women’s basketball player since 2002-2003. As a graduate student, she was a Third-Team All-America pick by the Associated Press, The Sporting News, and USBWA. She claimed three Honorable Mention nods on the WBCA All-America Team during her career at Syracuse and Buffalo. Fair was a two-time First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection with the Orange and also earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team during the 2022-23 campaign.
During the 2023-2024 season at Syracuse, she started 30 of 32 games and averaged 22.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, while also dishing out 3.9 assists per outing. She led the ACC in minutes played, field goal attempts, made three-point field goals, three-point field goal attempts, and three-point field goal percentage. Fair netted her 3,000th career point against Clemson on January 14, 2024. As a senior, she earned a starting assignment in all 33 games, averaging 19.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game and led the ACC with 79 steals. She reached 2,500 career points with a 24-point performance against Boston College on February 5, 2023. At Buffalo, she was a two-time First-Team All-Mid-American Conference performer. She also collected Second-Team All-MAC commendation during the 2019-20 campaign and was honored as the 2019-20 MAC Freshman of the Year. She was named to the 2020-21 MAC All-Defensive Team and received finalist status for the 2021-22 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. Fair was one of 10 finalists for the 2020-21 Nancy Lieberman Award and also earned semifinalist distinction for the 2020-21 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. She owns the Buffalo career scoring record with 2,035 points while starting 84 of 88 games from 2019 to 2022. She also holds UB all-time marks for career scoring average (23.1) and field goals attempted (1,821). Fair ranks second on the Buffalo career ledger with 695 made field goals and 418 made free throws. She made 227 career three-point field goals at Buffalo, the third-highest total in program history. She is one of three players in Buffalo history to score 40 or more points in a game, tallying 40 points at Bowling Green on January 5, 2022, the third-highest mark in Buffalo history. She needed just 44 games to surpass 1,000 career points, reaching the milestone at Central Michigan on January 30, 2021.
