Maddie Burns to Make Professional Debut with AU Pro Lacrosse

Defender Maddie Burns has signed for the 2024 Athletes Unlimited Pro Lacrosse season.

Burns will make her professional debut after being one of 16 players selected in the Lacrosse College Draft.

She earned First-Team IWLCA All-America honors in 2024 and was a three-time IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region selection at Michigan. She is also a three-time USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American and two-time Inside Lacrosse All-American.

Burns became the first women’s lacrosse Wolverine in program history to earn Big Ten Conference Defender of the Year (2024). She was a three-time First-Team All-Big Ten selection and earned the honor unanimously in 2024 with 41 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers. 

She finished her Michigan career with 67 starts, 111 ground balls, 77 caused turnovers, and 77 draw controls.
