Series 1 Captains Set for AUX Softball

Aubrey Leach, Megan Wiggins, and Jessi Warren will draft their Series 1 teams to kick off the 2024 season on June 7 at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT.

The captains will announce their picks during a live draft show hosted by Savanna Collins on the AUProSports YouTube channel.

The final leaderboard standings from the previous year determine the captains for the start of each new AUX season.

The 2024 AUX Champion Rachel Garcia will only compete at Championship Season in Rosemont, Illinois later this summer so second-place medalist Aubrey Leach will be the Gold captain. Wiggins and Warren are the other returners with the highest finish on the leaderboard and will serve as the orange and blue team captains, respectively.

Middle infielder Aubrey Leach invested in adapting her game leading into the 2023 season. It paid dividends on the leaderboard to propel her to her first medal at the 2023 AUX season with a second-place finish with 1,158 leaderboard points. She got on base with power, speed, and finesse. She was one of seven players in the league to hit .400 or better after posting a .405 batting average while starting all 10 games. She tied with Haylie McCleney for the league lead with 15 hits, including two home runs, five doubles, and a triple.

Wiggins posted the best finish of her AU Pro Softball career after placing fifth with 1,076 leaderboard points. She had a league-high 790win points and 166 stat points. She batted .286 with eight hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in seven runs.

The 2024 AUX Softball season will be played at Wilkins Stadium, home of Wichita State Softball from June 10 to June 25. Tickets are on sale now.
