NASHVILLE — Captain Maddy Siegrist scored a game-high 26 points, including 16 in the second half, and grabbed 10 rebounds as Team Siegrist outlasted Team [Tyasha] Harris for a 74-70 victory to wrap up Thursday’s Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball doubleheader at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

Siegrist’s 26 points came off an 11-for-16 effort from the floor and included an offensive rebound and put-back jumper in the game’s last seconds to secure the victory for her squad. The Villanova product also sank all four of her free throws en route to earning MVP 2 honors and 727 leaderboard points.

Guard Taj Cole joined Siegrist with MVP 3 plaudits after pitching in a season-high 12 points with seven assists and three rebounds to collect 507 leaderboard points.

Captain Tyasha Harris garnered MVP 1 accolades in a losing effort with a team-high 21 points, including 3-of-8 shooting from three-point range. The former South Carolina standout added four rebounds and an assist to capture 246 leaderboard points.

Guard Bria Hartley added 11 points with a pair of rebounds, three assists and two steals for Team Siegrist, while center Elizabeth Williams narrowly missed a double-double after scoring nine points with nine rebounds.

Forwards Maya Caldwell and Alissa Pili each ended the night with 13 points for Team Harris, while forward Dorie Harrison grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go with six points.

KEY MOMENT

Team Siegrist grew its lead to 58-45 in the opening moments of the fourth quarter before Team Harris used a 23-11 run to narrow the gap to 69-68 on a Caldwell jumper with 32.3 seconds remaining. The teams exchanged baskets before Team Siegrist sealed the victory in the closing seconds as Cole made a free throw and Siegrist hit a short jumper.

LEADERBOARD IMPACT

Siegrist continues to stand atop the leaderboard with 6,223 points as the top five positions remain unchanged after the first day of the season’s final week. Harris and Caldwell still hold the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, while Williams slotted up one spot to sixth with 3,733 points.
