
Recap: Odyssey Sims' scores career-high 41 points in Team Siegrist's 96-86 win
NASHVILLE — A historic performance from guard Odyssey Sims coupled with a 25-point effort from captain Maddy Siegrist piloted Team Siegrist to a 96-86 victory against Team Bradford to wrap up Saturday’s Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball twinbill at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
The result moved Team Siegrist to 3-0 for the season’s second week, while Team Bradford closed the segment at 1-2.
Sims erupted for a career-high 41 points, including 27 in the first half, on 13-of-20 shooting to earn MVP 1 honors while setting a new league single-game record with 941 leaderboard points.
Siegrist, meanwhile, claimed MVP 2 distinction after connecting on 9-of-16 shots from the floor while adding seven rebounds en route to 634 leaderboard points.
Guard Bria Hartley paced Team Bradford with a season-high 23 points and gathered in three rebounds with five assists to claim MVP 3 status and 291 leaderboard points.
Forward Maya Caldwell tacked on 13 points with seven rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in the victory for Team Siegrist, while guard Taj Cole dished out a team-high five assists.
Captain Crystal Bradford boasted her third straight double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds in a losing effort, while guard Jaylyn Sherrod poured in 13 points. Forward Desi-Rae Young added 10 points off the bench in the defeat.
KEY MOMENT
Team Bradford tied the game at 30-30 with 7:51 left in the first half before Team Siegrist erupted for a 15-2 run over the next three minutes to take a 45-32 advantage it did not concede. Sims led the charge by scoring 18 points during the frame.
LEADERBOARD IMPACT
Sims assumed the top spot on the seasonal leaderboard with 3,570 points with Siegrist behind her in second place with 3,467 points. The weekly leaderboard features Team Siegrist earning seven of the top 10 positions, including Isabelle Harrison, who leapt 12 spots into third place with 1,517 points. Caldwell, meanwhile, jumped 13 places into fourth place with 1,503 points.
