NASHVILLE — A complete team effort, including seven players scoring in double figures, propelled Team Westbrook to its second convincing win in a row, a 94-73 Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball victory over Team Colson in the opener of Friday night’s doubleheader at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

The win elevated Team Westbrook to 2-0, while Team Colson dipped to 0-2 after falling for the second straight game.

Guard Bria Hartley anchored the offensive outburst for Team Westbrook, scoring a game-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range. The AU newcomer also added three rebounds to secure MVP 1 honors and 603 leaderboard points.

Guard Tyasha Harris followed with an MVP 2 performance after contributing 12 points with four rebounds and four assists. The former South Carolina standout tallied 544 leaderboard points following a 5-for-10 shooting effort from the field.

Forward Maya Caldwell completed the Game MVP trio after securing MVP 3 distinction with a 15-point, 6-rebound performance.

Forward Alissa Pili paced Team Colson in the loss with 15 points apiece while guard Crystal Bradford flirted with a triple-double by scoring 13 points with 10 rebounds while dishing out a career-high eight assists.

KEY MOMENT

After the teams traded six points in the opening three minutes, Team Westbrook surged ahead by going on an 18-2 run, including 12 consecutive points to ignite the outburst, and led by 24-8 with 1:57 remaining in the opening period. The lead ballooned to as much as 32 points in the second half for Team Westbrook.

LEADERBOARD IMPACT

Harris took over first place on the leaderboard with her 544-point performance, giving the first-year AU player a 16-point advantage over Bradford. Guard Kia Nurse, who held the advantage after Opening Night, stands third with 1,218 points.

NOTES OF INTEREST

  • Team Westbrook has won 7-of-8 quarters in its two wins … The squad won the first seven periods before Team Colson eked out a 20-13 verdict in the fourth quarter on Friday night.

  • Team Westbrook became the first squad in Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball to have seven players finish in double figures in the same game … It is the third time in league history where a team has closed a game with six or more players registering at least 10 points.

  • Team Westbrook shot 50.0 percent from the field in the victory, marking the second straight game it has made at least half of its attempts.

  • Team Colson outrebounded Team Westbrook by a 48-40 margin and committed just seven turnovers in the loss.
