Kelsey Mitchell has been named to the 12-person roster for the FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament, Team USA announced on Monday.

The tournament will be held in Washington, D.C. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena from Feb. 10-12, and will feature games between the U.S., Belgium and Puerto Rico.

Mitchell, who ranks 17th on the leaderboard, has tallied 1,425 points this season with Athletes Unlimited and served as a captain during Week 1. She was one of 17 athletes that took part following a three-day training camp. She will take the court with Team USA against Belgium on Feb. 11 and Puerto Rico on Feb 12. They will be led by 2021-24 USA National Team head coach Cheryl Reeve.

“There was a lot of great energy and excitement over the course of the last few days with this new group,” Connecticut Sun president and USA Basketball Women’s National Team Selection Committee chair Jennifer Rizzotti. “This group of players is showcasing the future of USA Basketball and this FIBA tournament will give them a great opportunity to get much needed experience in meaningful competition against Belgium and Puerto Rico.”

As the 2020 Olympic gold medalists, the U.S. has already qualified for the 2022 FIBA World Cup, which will be held Sept. 22 – Oct. 1 in Sydney, Australia.
