Erika Piancastelli signs for AU Pro Softball Championship season
AU Pro Softball has signed catcher Erika Piancastelli for the 2024 Championship season in Rosemont, Illinois.
Piancastelli has been a competitor within the league since its inception, finishing in the top half of the leaderboard every year. She was a medalist in 2020 earning fourth place overall. Piancastelli is one of five players who have played in all 60 possible career games in AU Pro Softball Championship Season play.
Most recently, the catcher closed the 2023 season with seven games earning 100 or more leaderboard points. Piancastelli has a .292 AU career batting average, a .397 on-base percentage, and a .596 slugging percentage.
She has been a member of the Italian National Team since 2015, competing for her country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In the year 2000, Loredana Auletta played for Team Italy in the Olympic Games
Over 20 years later her daughter, @Uurka_20, closed the circle by being captain of Team Italy in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
