Piancastelli was born in Modena, Italy however moved to California with her family when she was five years old. She later went on to play softball on the Italy Women's National Team. She has played for Italy since 2015.
Piancastelli finished 23rd overall in 2021 with 1,278 points. In 2020, she tallied 1,840 points to rank fourth on the leaderboard. She is tied for the single-season record in home runs with nine and had a .885 slugging percentage. She is a member of the Italian National Team and competed in the 2020 Olympics.
