Athletes Unlimited expands partnership with Leveling the Playing Field
Athletes Unlimited has expanded its partnership with Leveling the Playing Field for the 2023 Volleyball season.
Leveling the Playing Field (LPF) is a nonprofit that collects and redistributes new and gently used equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities.
The expansion of the partnership builds upon Athletes Unlimited’s commitment to expanding access to youth sports.
“The Athletes Unlimited community partnership with Leveling the Playing Field was a success for our lacrosse and softball seasons. Our fans were excited to contribute to youth access to sports and toward environmental sustainability initiatives at the same time,” said Hilary Meyer, Senior Vice President of Impact at Athletes Unlimited. “We continue to encourage fans to contribute to this impactful mission in getting much-needed equipment into the hands of young athletes.”
“Leveling the Playing Field is incredibly excited to grow our partnership with Athletes Unlimited and incorporate equipment collection drives into the upcoming AU volleyball season,” said Kaitlin Brennan, Director of Operations at Leveling the Playing Field. “The support of the AU community throughout the first two collection drives was impressive, with fans donating over $18,000 worth of sporting equipment throughout the lacrosse and softball seasons. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Athletes Unlimited to collect more gear and get even more kids off the sidelines.”
Fans attending the 2023 Volleyball season in Mesa, Ariz. can bring new and gently used equipment to the stadium where there will be a collection bin. Those who donate will receive a voucher for two (2) complimentary tickets for a game of their choice during the 2023 season. Vouchers are only available while supplies last and can be redeemed at the All About AU hub in the stadium.
At Legacy Park, new or gently used volleyball, knee pads and/or basketballs are welcome.
