Megan Kinna
Biography
Personal: Kinna majored in communication studies at Northwestern. In high school, she also played soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
International Experience: Kinna guided Canada to a silver medal at the 2017 FIL Women’s World Cup, scoring six goals with five assists over eight games while adding eight ground balls. She also led Team Canada to a gold medal at the 2015 FIL Rathbones U-19 World Championships, where she scored five goals with four assists and 11 draw controls.
At Northwestern: Kinna was a five-year letter winner at Northwestern, starting 67 out of 72 games from 2017 to 2021. She scored 61 goals with 33 assists during her career and also collected 89 ground balls, 82 draw controls, and 44 caused turnovers. As a graduate student during the 2021 campaign, she appeared in two games. During the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Kinna started in all seven games, netting 14 goals with four assists. She scored a career-high four goals in a victory over Duke on February 9, 2020. As a junior, she earned starting assignments in all 21 games, registering a career-best 11 assists while adding 17 goals. Kinna tallied a career-high 19 goals during her sophomore season while starting every game. She began her career in 2017 by scoring 11 goals with nine assists and establishing career highs with 32 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers.
