Biography
Personal: As the Chairperson of Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball’s Player Executive Committee, Lexie Brown has made significant contributions to the league. Her father, Dee Brown, a former NBA player, holds a special place in her life. Brown's hobbies include social media, spending time with friends, hiking, discovering new restaurants, working out, and pilates. Her childhood involvement included ballet, tennis, and summer camps, and she worked as a college women’s basketball analyst with the ACC Network during the 2022-23 season.
2023 Season: In her second year in AU Pro Basketball, Brown secured 18th place on the final leaderboard with 3,939 points. Her remarkable performance included accumulating 2,550 win points across 11 games. Brown led the league with a .448 three-point field goal percentage, converting 26-of-58 attempts from long range. Additionally, she stood third in the circuit with a .518 field goal percentage while averaging 11.5 points per contest. Her consistent scoring included eight outings with 10 or more points, culminating in a career-high 21 points against Team Smith on March 8. Notably, she equaled the Athletes Unlimited Basketball single-game record with six three-pointers in the Week Three opener and replicated this feat against Team Sims on February 24. Brown closed the season strong with double-digit scoring performances in five of the last six games, showcasing her consistent form.
2022 Season: During the inaugural season, Brown showcased her prowess, finishing fourth on the leaderboard with 5,317 points and earning a spot on the Athletes Unlimited All-Defensive Team. Noteworthy performances included multiple instances of 400 or more points, peaking at a season-high 534 points in the season opener against Team Sims on January 26. Brown was a standout defensively, ranking second in the league with 38 steals and recording three or more steals in eight games. Her playmaking ability was evident with 70 assists, ranking her sixth in the league. Averaging 14.0 points per game with 12 double-digit efforts, she showcased her scoring consistency throughout the season, including a season-high 20 points against Team Cloud in Week Five. Notably, she started the season with four consecutive double-digit scoring performances.
Other Professional Experience: Brown boasts a six-year WNBA career, playing 135 games with 40 starts and averaging 6.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Her journey in the WNBA includes stints with the Connecticut Sun, Minnesota Lynx, Chicago Sky, and Los Angeles Sparks. Notably, she contributed significantly to the Chicago Sky's 2021 WNBA title. College Experience: Having started her college career at Maryland before transferring to Duke, Brown made NCAA history as the first player to earn Associated Press All-America honors at two different schools. She set records at Duke, making 56 consecutive free throws and hitting a three-pointer in 29 consecutive games. Her versatile skill set made her one of three players in NCAA "Power Five" Conference history to accumulate at least 2,000 career points with 500 assists, 300 steals, and 300 made three-pointers.
