Paige Briggs-Romine
Biography
Personal: Briggs-Romine graduated from Western Kentucky with a degree in visual studies and minored in graphic design and entrepreneurship. She married her husband, Connor Romine, in June 2024. She is the daughter of Pete and Pam Briggs and has an older brother named Peter. Briggs-Romine credits her college coach, Travis Hudson, as someone who made a significant impact on her life. She began playing volleyball because of her inspiration, Misty May-Treanor. Outside of volleyball, Briggs-Romine enjoys playing pickleball, cooking new recipes, and working on art projects.
Other Professional Experience: Briggs-Romine was the No. 5 overall pick in the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation U.S. College Player Draft by the Orlando Valkyries, before being traded to the Omaha Supernovas. She helped Omaha secure the 2024 PVF title with an 18-8 record, finishing the season with 86 kills, 104 digs, five blocks, and 10 service aces. Briggs-Romine is also a member of the Grand Rapids Rise for the 2025 PVF campaign.
International Experience: In 2022, Briggs-Romine was named to the United States Women’s Collegiate National Team.
College Experience:
Briggs-Romine was a five-year starter at Western Kentucky from 2019 to 2023, appearing in a program-record 155 matches with 154 starts. She is a three-time AVCA All-America selection, including earning Third-Team honors in 2023 and Honorable Mention accolades in 2021 and 2022. Briggs-Romine played in 519 career sets, including a career-high 115 sets in 2023. She ranks third in Hilltopper history with 1,838 career kills and 181 service aces, and she is only the second player in program history to rank in the top 10 for both kills and digs, with 1,440 career digs. She also contributed 214 total blocks, including 58 in her senior year, and finished her college career with a .308 hitting percentage, including a .331 mark in her final season. Briggs-Romine was a five-time AVCA All-Region selection and twice named AVCA Region Player of the Year. She became the first five-time All-Conference USA First Team selection in league history. In 2023, she earned AVCA Third-Team All-America and VolleyballMag.com All-America Honorable Mention honors, along with AVCA South Region Player of the Year and Conference USA’s Alyssa Cavanaugh Player of the Year accolades. She was named Conference USA Player of the Week three times during the 2023 campaign and led the Hilltoppers to a 30-5 record and a C-USA title. Briggs-Romine finished with a team-high 457 kills, including 14 matches with at least 15 kills, and recorded 14 double-doubles in her final collegiate season. Her season highlights include a career-high 35 kills with a .484 hitting percentage against Western Michigan and 10 service aces against Sam Houston. In 2022, Briggs-Romine earned AVCA and Volleyball Magazine All-America Honorable Mention honors after starting all 33 matches and tallying 416 kills, 267 digs, 43 service aces, and a career-high 58 total blocks. She had 11 matches with 15 or more kills, including five matches with 20 or more kills, and she posted five double-doubles. In 2021, she started 30 matches, amassing 290 kills, 267 digs, 32 service aces, and six double-doubles. In her sophomore season in 2020, she played in all 78 sets across 24 matches, leading the Hilltoppers with 232 kills and 267 digs. Briggs-Romine was named Western Kentucky’s John O. Oldham Student-Athlete of the Year. She earned AVCA Freshman of the Year honors in 2019 after starting all 34 matches and leading the Hilltoppers with 388 kills and a career-high 344 digs, finishing 25 matches with 10 or more kills. Briggs-Romine is a 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Second Team selection and earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors as a sophomore. She also earned Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Honor Roll recognition five times.
