Pro Volleyball Spotlight: Parsons Powers Omaha, MLV Playoffs Set
Major League Volleyball wrapped another pivotal week with postseason spots officially locked in and one standout performance leading the way. The Omaha Supernovas secured their place in the bracket behind a dominant outing from Sarah Parsons, while San Diego closed the door on the final playoff spot with a late-season surge.
Here’s a look at the latest from the fifteenth week of Major League Volleyball play.
Sarah Parsons Claims Player of the Week Honors
Sarah Parsons delivered one of her most efficient performances of the season to lead Omaha past the Columbus Fury in four sets (25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20), earning her second Player of the Week nod of the season.
Parsons finished with 21 kills on a .452 hitting percentage, adding nine digs and an ace while totaling a match-high 26 points. It marked her most efficient hitting performance of the year and a new season high in kills, surpassing her previous mark of 19, which she first set on January 10 versus Columbus and matched again against the Indy Ignite in March. She also earned Player of the Match honors.
At the net, Parsons contributed four blocks as part of a franchise-record 21-block performance from Omaha in the win. The outing helped the Supernovas clinch their third straight MLV postseason appearance.
Parsons has now recorded double-digit kills in 13 matches this season, including five of her last six, and has become the only player in MLV this year to earn multiple weekly awards.

San Diego, led by first-year head coach Alisha Glass Childress, has since gone 13-6, in one of the strongest stretches in the league.
