Manami Kojima Named LOVB Libero of the Year
After a standout season anchoring the backcourt for LOVB Salt Lake, Manami Kojima has been named the 2025 League One Volleyball (LOVB) Libero of the Year.
Kojima led the league with 225 total digs, including her season-high 28 digs in a January matchup against LOVB Madison. She also posted a season-best eight assists versus Omaha in March. Her elite serve receive made her one of the most consistent liberos in the league, finishing third in passing percentage (51.6%) and fourth in passing efficiency (2.45).
In addition to the league honor, Kojima earned two Defensive Player of the Week awards, becoming the first-ever recipient of the weekly recognition. She was also named to the LOVB Icons Second Team, backed by 18% of the combined fan, player, and coach vote.
Kojima’s relentless defense and leadership have been central to Salt Lake’s success this season, and her Libero of the Year honor cements her status as one of the league’s most impactful players.
As the first player named Libero of the Year in League One Volleyball, Kojima sets the standard for excellence at the position.
Her consistent performance this season helped Salt Lake clinch the No. 4 seed in the upcoming LOVB Finals tournament, where all six teams will compete for the league title from April 10 to 13 in Louisville.
