Auburn's Maddie Penta signs with AU Pro Softball
Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball has signed pitcher Maddie Penta for the AUX season in Wichita, Kansas from June 10 to June 25.
Penta is the winningest pitcher in Auburn program history with 76 victories in four years as a Tiger. She was 16-10 in her senior season with 15 complete games in 30 starts. Penta earned All-American honors for the second consecutive year after being named to the NFCA Third Team for the 2024 season. She is the only pitcher in program history to earn multiple NFCA All-American accolades.
This season Penta was part of two no-hitters and two perfect games and now stands as the first Tiger in program history with multiple perfect games in their career.
She was also the first Tiger to record three straight seasons with at least 250 strikeouts. Penta posted a 1.90 earned run average over her 202.1 innings of work in 2024. She is the SEC strikeout leader with 264, a mark that ranks third nationally. She ranks 12th nationally in strikeouts per inning, averaging 9.1 strikeouts across seven frames.
