Biography
Personal: Victaria Saxton is the daughter of Consuelo and Victor Saxton and has an older sister and older brother. She graduated from South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice in May 2022. She holds a master’s degree in coaching education from South Carolina and finished her scholastic career with 2,622 points, setting a Model High School record.
Other Professional Experience: Victaria Saxton is a two-year WNBA veteran after being taken with the No. 25 overall selection by the Indiana Fever in the 2023 WNBA Draft. She has averaged 1.1 points and 0.5 rebounds in 24 career games. Saxton made 15 appearances off the bench as a rookie. She scored five points against Seattle on July 30, 2023, and against Connecticut on August 4, 2023. She saw action in nine games during the 2024 campaign and matched her career-high with five points against Washington on September 19, 2024.
At South Carolina: Victaria Saxton was a five-year letter winner at South Carolina, where she ranks second in NCAA Division I history by playing in 166 games for the Gamecocks from 2018-23, including 105 starts. She piloted South Carolina to the 2022 NCAA Division I title and three Final Four appearances. She also helped the Gamecocks win three Southeastern Conference regular-season championships and three SEC Tournament crowns. As a member of the 2019-20 Gamecock squad, she finished the season as the top-ranked team in the Associated Press and USA Today polls and helped South Carolina claim SEC regular-season and tournament titles before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the remainder of the season. She ranked eighth in the SEC as a freshman with 1.8 blocks per game and earned SEC All-Freshman Team accolades after averaging 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in league play.
