Colson worked as an assistant coach for the Rice University Women’s Basketball Team, leading the Owls to their first-ever postseason title. She would like to become a sports commentator after her professional basketball career. Colson collects quarters from each U.S. state.
Colson was drafted 16th overall in the 2011 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. In her 10-year WNBA career she has played for the Sun, the New York Liberty, the San Antonio Stars, the Las Vegas Aces and the Minnesota Lynx. Colson has also played for Lider Pruszkow in the PLKK league in Poland, H.R. Le-Zion in the Israel-D1 League and Sleza Wroclaw in the Polish league EBLK.
