Ruthy Hebard

Personal: Hebard is the daughter of Dorothy and John Hebard. She has two brothers. She gave birth to her first son, Xzavier, in April 2023. She is a three-time Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year honoree who scored 2,227 points with 1,554 rebounds during her scholastic career. She also played volleyball in high school, earning All-Conference distinction all four years with three conference titles. She started playing basketball at five years old.

Other Professional Experience: Hebard is a four-year WNBA veteran who was selected by Chicago Sky with No. 8 overall pick in 2020 WNBA Draft. She has averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 95 career games, including 12 starts. She scored a career-high 22 points against Dallas on September 11, 2020, making 9-of-12 field goal attempts in addition to all four free throws. She registered her first WNBA double-double with 12 points and a career-high 11 rebounds against Indiana on August 31, 2020. She has also played overseas in Turkey.

International Experience: Hebard was a member of the 2019 USA 3x3 Pan American Games Team that won the Gold medal with a 7-0 record. She led Team USA with a 7.3 scoring average while starting 4-of-7 games. She also competed for Team USA at the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, guiding the squad to fifth place finish. She teamed up with fellow Oregon teammates Erin Boley, Oti Gildon and Sabrina Ionescu to win the 2018 USA Basketball 3x3 National Championship with a perfect 8-0 record. She earned a Silver medal with Team USA at 2017 Women’s U-19 World Cup. She averaged 8.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while helping Team USA claim Gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Americas U-18 Championship.

College Experience: Hebard was a four-year letter winner at Oregon who started 141-of-144 games from 2016-20. She is the second-leading scorer in Oregon history with 2,368 career points. She also ranks eighth on the Pac-12 Conference’s all-time scoring list. She is third on the Ducks’ career list with 1,299 rebounds. She ranks seventh in school history with 146 blocked shots. She holds the Oregon and Pac-12 Conference records with .651 career field goal percentage, a mark that ranks seventh in NCAA Division I history. She also established school and conference single-season marks with .685 field goal success rate during her senior campaign. She made a school-record 987 field goals over four-year career. She notched 123 career double-digit scoring games, the second-highest total in Oregon history. She ranks sixth on Oregon’s single-season list with 652 points as a sophomore. Hebard stands second on the Ducks’ single-season ledger with 272 made field goals during the 2017-18 campaign. She collected 55 career double-doubles, good for fifth in Oregon history. She scored 30 or more points five times, including a career-high 34 points against Washington State on January 6, 2019. She grabbed 15 or more rebounds in a game eight times, including a career-best 18 caroms against Oklahoma State on November 28, 2019. She led the Ducks in rebounding and field goal percentage during all four years. She helped Oregon reach the NCAA Final Four for the first time in program history during her junior season. She was a three-time WBCA and Associated Press All-America honoree, including First-Team distinction as a senior. She was a member of the 2020 USBWA and Wooden Award All-America First Teams. She earned a Second-Team Senior CLASS All-America selection in 2020. She was the first-ever recipient of Katrina McClain Award as nation’s top power forward in 2018. She was also named the Katrina McClain Award winner in 2020 in addition to being a finalist in 2019. She was a member of the 2020 Naismith Starting Five. She was a finalist for the 2020 Wooden Award. She was a semifinalist for the 2020 Citizen Naismith Trophy. Hebard was a four-time First-Team All-Pac-12 selection by the league’s head coaches. She also garnered First-Team All-Pac-12 recognition by the league’s media. She was a member of the 2020 Pac-12 All-Defensive Team by the media and a three-time Pac-12 All-Tournament Team selection. She secured the NCAA Division I record by converting 33 consecutive field goal attempts over four-game span from February 9-19, 2018. She is one of four players in program history to make 16 field goals in a single game, accomplishing the feat against Washington State on January 6, 2019. She set the Oregon record for most made field goals without a miss in a game, going 12-for-12 against Washington State on February 11, 2018, and against USC on February 16, 2018. She is one of four players in Oregon history to be selected in the first round of WNBA Draft. She joined Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally as Oregon players taken in 2020 WNBA Draft. She is the first Oregon player to lead a WNBA team to a championship after helping Chicago Sky win 2021 title.
